Leslie Bond of Uniontown has been named LaborÄ¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Woman of the Year by the Allegheny-Fayette County Labor Council. The recognition is bestowed upon labor leaders for outstanding service to union members and their communities. She was honored at a banquet at Station Square in Pittsburgh.

Bond is the legislative director for United Food & Commercial Workers Local 23, based near Pittsburgh, serving western Pennsylvania, the Ohio Valley and north central West Virginia. She also handles communications, community service and outreach activities for the union, and organized the localÄ¢¹½ÊÓÆµ award-wining entry in the Pittsburgh Labor Day Parade in 2015.

Bond lives in South Union Township with her husband, Bryan Bond, who is also an officer of UFCW Local 23.
