One killed in 3-vehicle accident on Mon/Fayette Expressway
A California man was killed in a three-vehicle accident on the Mon/Fayette Expressway in California, according to Washington County Coroner Timothy Warco.
Robert John Bishop, 48, was pronounced dead along Route 43 by the Washington County CoronerÄ¢¹½ÊÓÆµ office at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
A box truck reportedly went over the top of a small car at about 8:15 a.m. near mile marker 34.9 northbound. A minivan was also involved in the crash, officials said.
Warco states that Bishop was restrained at the time of the crash.
The cause and manner of BishopÄ¢¹½ÊÓÆµ death is pending.Â
Two medical helicopters were called to the scene, according to a Washington County 911 supervisor.
Northbound traffic was rerouted to the Elco exit, but Route 43 has since been reopened.
State police, Charleroi and Fallowfield fire departments, Mon Valley, Brownsville and Rostraver EMS, LifeFlight and STAT MedEvac are responding to the scene.
