Police release names in fatal Henry Clay Township crash

State police identified those involved in a crash on State Route 40 Tuesday that killed a passenger and injured two others.

Carrie L. McClintock, 22, of Confluence died from her injuries after she was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital. Driver Christy L. McClintock, 42, of Confluence was also flown to the Morgantown, West Virginia hospital with injuries. The driver of the second vehicle, Thomas D. Hall, 48, of Pittsburgh was flown to UPMC Mercy hospital in Pittsburgh with injuries, according to state police.

Police said Hall was driving east when he crossed into the opposing lane of traffic for unknown reasons, hitting McClintockÄ¢¹½ÊÓÆµ vehicle near 5621 National Pike.

The crash occurred at about 3 p.m. on the hill just above the Jockey Hollow boat ramp. Both vehicles caught fire. Two witnesses smashed the windows of the vehicle with the McClintocks inside and pulled them from the sport utility vehicle, officials said on the scene.

State police are continuing their investigation into the crash.

State police in Uniontown were assisted by Markleysburg/Henry Clay fire department, Farmington fire department, Fayette EMS, a state police accident reconstruction unit, a state police forensic services unit and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
