Boiling advisory lifted for Washington, Allegheny counties

1 min read

Pennsylvania American Water has lifted a boil advisory that was in effect for parts of Washington and Allegheny counties, and impacted about 100,000 customers.

The company lifted the advisory around noon Wednesday. Company officials on Monday said cloudy water caused them to caution customers to first boil their water before consuming it.

After two days of acceptable test results, the state Department of Environmental Protection authorized lifting the boil advisory.
