Uniontown man charged in undercover child sex sting
A Uniontown man was arrested for allegedly soliciting sex from an undercover agent he believed was a 14-year-old boy.
Jeremy Lee Brady, 28, of 8 Mullen St. has been charged with unlawful contact with a minor, criminal attempt to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 and criminal use of a communication facility.
According to paperwork filed in his case, Brady sent a private message Thursday through a social networking application to the agent, who said twice that he was 14. Brady allegedly asked to meet him in a bathroom for sex. The person declined, and instead arranged a meeting.
Brady was arrested at the meeting location and charged through the state Office of the Attorney General. Investigators said he had a loaded .380 Smith and Wesson handgun.
He allegedly admitted to sending the messages with the intention of performing a sex act with the boy. “He stated that he would not have harmed the child or forced the child to do anything he would not have wanted to do,” court paperwork said.
Brady was arraigned late Thursday before on-call Magisterial District Judge Michael Metros, who set bail at $150,000. He remains in Fayette County Prison in lieu of bond.
His preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Nov. 29.
