Masontown man charged in domestic assault
Police issued an arrest warrant Saturday for a Masontown man who allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and sister at a German Township home.
Jeremiah Michael Ramos, 27, of River Avenue is charged with aggravated assault and two counts of simple assault.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case, he was out Saturday and got into an argument with people at the bar. His girlfriend left for her friend’s home at Fazenbaker Road and Leckrone 2 Road. He allegedly came to the house unexpectedly and an argument broke out. Police said he pushed a table into his sister, Brenda Maher, and grabbed his girlfriend by the neck, lifting her from the chair and causing her to lose consciousness. Police said three witnesses gave the same account.
The girlfriend denied ambulance transport, saying she has had similar incidents with Ramos before but did not want to press charges. Maher told police that “she wanted something done because she cannot take any more,” court documents said.
Charges were filed before Magisterial District Judge Daniel C. Shimshock.
