An arrest warrant was issued for a McClellandtown man who allegedly brandished a gun at Fort Mason Village and pistol-whipped a woman at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

Desean Lamar McCoy, 22, of Main Street allegedly ran from police after they arrived for a report of a disturbance at the Masontown housing project.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, he was brandishing a handgun and threatening people in the area. He was reportedly arguing with another person when he allegedly hit the woman with the pistol, causing a concussion and cut to her earlobe. The woman told police he cocked the gun, and a bullet flew out, hitting her in the chest. She said he threatened to shoot her while pointing the gun at her chest. She pepper sprayed him and he allegedly punched her, police said. She was treated for her injuries at a hospital.

While police were investigating, a phone was passed to police with McCoy on the other line. He told an officer he ran because he was scared of police.

Charges were filed before Magisterial District Judge Daniel C. Shimshock by Masontown Police, Monday.
