A Uniontown man was arrested after he allegedly tried to rob another man in the parking lot of Meloni’s in the city Wednesday night.

George Marion Adams, 40, of Pershing Court allegedly approached a man at about 9 p.m. and asked him for money.

When the man did not give him money, Adams allegedly shoved him against his vehicle and demanded a few dollars. The victim was not identified in court paperwork. Police said he hit Adams, who fled the scene.

State police responded to the scene and saw a man matching the description the victim gave them. He turned away from them and later ran down Beeson Boulevard, with a trooper chasing him. He was later found on a second story deck and arrested.

Adams is charged with robbery. He was arraigned before on-call Magisterial District Judge Jennifer Jeffries, who set bail at $7,500. He was unable to post bail and remains in the county lockup.
