Woman charged with assaulting and threatening Uniontown police
A woman is behind bars for allegedly assaulting Uniontown City Police officers and threatening to kill them and their families Thursday night.
Police were called to Esther’s Tavern at about 11 p.m. because Amanda D. Drake, 28, of Tuskeegee Terrace in Uniontown was reportedly intoxicated and refusing to leave.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in her case, officers asked her to walk home multiple times before taking her into custody for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. She allegedly resisted officers and kicked at them and the patrol car.
“When I get out of here, I’m going to find out where your kids live and burn their house down with them inside,” she was quoted as saying in court paperwork as she was escorted to a holding cell.
She allegedly kicked Officer Jamie Holland in the head and twice in the hand while police put her in a restraint chair. She allegedly continued making threats, saying she would kill officers and their families when she was released, according to court paperwork.
Drake reportedly slipped out of a hand restraint and spit in Officer Travis Shandor’s face when he was re-securing her hand. He was taken to Uniontown Hospital for evaluation and tests, court paperwork said.
She is charged with terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and two counts of aggravated assault.
Drake was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Nathan Henning, who set bail at $20,000. She remained in the Fayette County lockup Friday afternoon.
