A man was charged with homicide for allegedly shooting a man in Masontown Monday night.

Christopher C. Shellhammer, 30, of 60 Main Street in McClellandtown called 911 just before 10 p.m. saying he shot someone and was going to the police station, according to court paperwork.

The victim was identified as Michael Shane Henrick. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 335 Peach Street. Shellhammer reported to the Masontown Borough police station and told officers “he was set up and attacked,” according to the affidavit filed in his case.

Shellhammer had a 9-mm Glock handgun in his car in the parking lot, police said.

Police found Henrick lying on his back on the living room floor with an apparent gunshot wound to his chest. His fiancee, Kelly French, told officers Shellhammer shot Henrick, court documents said.

Shellhammer allegedly fired three to four shots, also hitting two walls near FrenchĢƵ young daughter and baby daughter.

He is charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault and three counts of recklessly endangering another person.

Shellhammer was arraigned early Tuesday by on-call Magisterial District Judge Mike Defino, who denied bail in the case.

A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Jan. 23 before Defino.

Charges were filed Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge Daniel C. Shimshock.
