Masontown man robbed at gunpoint in apartment

An arrest warrant was issued for a McClellandtown man who allegedly held a man at gunpoint in his Masontown apartment and demanded money Tuesday afternoon.

Jeremy “JT” Tyler Matthews, 20, of Main Street allegedly walked into the 55 Fort Mason Village apartment, threatened Justin Fabery with a small handgun and demanded money.

“I thought I was going to die,” Fabery was quoted in court documents as saying to Masontown Police.

Fabery told investigators he was outside smoking a cigarette when Matthews came up to him, wanting to buy marijuana. He said he told Matthews he does not sell it.

At about 3:50 p.m., Matthews allegedly walked inside and demanded a brown bag of money. Fabery responded he did not have a bag of money and handed him $150 and a pack of cigarettes.

Matthews also allegedly stole Fabery’s “monthly stash” of marijuana — about one ounce — according to the affidavit of probable cause.

A witness, Blake Martin, told police he saw Matthews rob and threaten Fabery, court paperwork said.

Police said Matthews does not have a license to carry a firearm.

He is charged with two counts of robbery and one count each of firearms not to be carried without a license, theft, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person.

Charges were filed before Magisterial District Judge Daniel C. Shimshock.
