Roads in downtown Uniontown were covered with water this morning, resulting in closures as crews worked to fix a water main break on Main Street. The water stretched from Main Street to Beeson Boulevard.

Fayette County 911 dispatchers confirmed a water main break in Uniontown occurred in front of the State Theatre at the intersection of East Main Street and Gallatin Avenue around 7:05 a.m. Wednesday.

Repairs will begin at about 12:30 p.m. and are expected to take the majority of the day, Pennsylvania American Water officials said Wednesday morning. Crews are on the scene to repair the line and then relay concrete.

South Gallatin Avenue is closed between West Penn Street and South Street, and drivers on Main Street are being directed around a large hole dug to repair the line break.
