A man was injured in an officer-involved shooting Sunday afternoon after police were called for a suspicious man in Hopwood.

The man was shot along Hopwood-Fairchance Road at about 4:20 p.m. near Cherokee Fur. The man, who was not identified, was flown to a hospital and is listed in critical but stable condition.

State Police Trooper Robert Broadwater said a 911 caller reported a suspicious man was walking up and down the street.

The man was apparently armed with a knife.

It was not immediately clear what events precipitated the shooting.

No officers were injured in the incident, and police stressed there was no continued danger to the public.
