Katelyn Valla Applause
The Charthene Club recently honored Katelyn Valla as its February girl of the month.
Valla is a senior at Charleroi Area School District where she is a highest honor roll student. She serves as vice president of the Interscholastic Reading Competition and is captain of the volleyball team where she earned MVP.
Valla is a member of the drafting club, Varsity Academy League, STEM club, REACH gifted program, Westinghouse Science Honors Institute and Christ in Action youth group.
Her community involvement includes being a Camp Invention volunteer, student coach volunteer and scorekeeper for middle school volleyball. She initiated the Bring Your Child to Work Day program for the last three years and is a Day of Hope volunteer.
Valla plans to attend Hood College to pursue a degree in environmental science and a minor in coastal studies. She is employed at Baker蘑菇视频 Pub as a waitress and by the North Charleroi Recreational League.
