Four injured in 3-vehicle accident in Connellsville Friday
Four people were injured and are expected to survive after a three-vehicle accident Friday evening on Memorial Boulevard (Route 119).
Connellsville police said pickup truck driver David M. Allen, 46, of Johnstown crossed into the opposing lane of traffic in the 300 block of Memorial Boulevard, about half a mile from McDonald’s, just before 5 p.m., hitting another pickup truck head-on. Mark E. Dobrick, 53, of Scottdale was identified as the second driver. Allen’s wife, Ann M. Allen, 43 of Johnstown, was his passenger. Suzanne E. Love, 44, of Connellsville was driving south behind Dobrick and collided with the trucks.
The Allens were flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Dobrick was flown to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Love was treated at Highlands Hospital in Connellsville and released, police said.
The trucks sustained extensive damage. Love’s vehicle sustained minor damage, according to police.
Connellsville police and state police are investigating the cause of the accident. A state police accident reconstruction unit assisted on the scene. A portion of the road was closed for several hours while police investigated and cleared the scene.
The state police forensics unit, Connellsville auxiliary police, New Haven Hose fire department and Fayette EMS also assisted on the scene.
