Second person charged in Waynesburg shooting
Waynesburg Borough Police said the second person involved in a shooting and home invasion Monday night was identified and arrested.
Kody Alan Scott, 21, of Waynesburg was arraigned Wednesday morning and lodged in Greene County Prison in lieu of a $75,000 bond. A warrant was issued Tuesday for the alleged shooter, Cody D. Jannenga, 21, of Piney Flats, Tennessee.
Johnathan C. Fannon was shot multiple times in the upper thigh at 53 S. Morris St. at about 10 p.m. Monday. He and his girlfriend, Brandi Stump, had recently arrived home with their 16-month-old baby, noting to investigators several people were outside at the time. Jannenga, who the couple knew, knocked on the glass door and allegedly pointed a gun at Stump, saying “I want everything. Give me everything.”
The two told police they did not know the second man, later identified as Scott. Stump told police he walked into their home and the three men began fighting while she locked herself in a room with the baby.
Fannon reportedly told police he fought with the second man over a weapon he believed to be fake. Jannenga allegedly shot him multiple times from behind with a pistol. He was also reportedly armed with brass knuckles. The two men allegedly stole pills from the home and fled.
Scott is charged with three counts each of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, and one count each of theft and conspiracy to commit aggravated assault. He was arraigned at 9 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge D. Glenn Bates.
Jannenga is charged with criminal attempt to commit homicide, theft, aggravated assault, and three counts each of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
