Crossland

A sport utility vehicle crashed through a Uniontown home at about 12:30 a.m. Friday, causing injuries to the driver.

Richard Crossland, 56, of Uniontown was taken to Uniontown Hospital and then flown by medical helicopter to a trauma center.

According to Uniontown City Police, Crossland was reportedly seen driving erratically. At the intersection of Lincoln and Prospect streets, he apparently missed a turn and careened through a fenced yard, then plowed into the home at 25 Prospect Street. Police identified the property owner as Brenda Dirda. No injuries were reported inside the home.

The crash is under investigation as police work to determine what factors caused Crossland to crash.
