Four charged in fight involving weapons in Connellsville
Four people were charged by Connellsville police following a fight reportedly involving a flare gun, a hunting knife and racial slurs on Highland Avenue last week.
Police alleged Raymond Cody Lee Adams, 21, and Brittney Lynn Boyer, 23, went to a residence May 13, reportedly to fight a 17-year-old girl and Brandan Tyler Mitten, 22, all of Connellsville. Mitten went outside, where a large group had gathered, and Boyer allegedly fired a flare gun, causing several people to flee, police said. Adams allegedly brandished a large hunting knife at Mitten and slashed at him, prompting Mitten to grab a small baseball bat to defend himself and hit Adams several times, according to police.
Boyer reportedly used racial slurs against one of the bystanders. The teen allegedly attempted to assault Boyer. A neighboring residence was damaged during a foot chase, police said.
Connellsville police arrived and broke up the fight.
Adams is facing three counts each of aggravated assault, simple assault and terroristic threats. He was arrested shortly after the fight and jailed on a $100,000 bond.
Boyer was charged Monday with ethnic intimidation and disorderly conduct. She is awaiting her preliminary arraignment on the charges. Mitten was charged Monday with disorderly conduct. He is also awaiting his preliminary arraignment. Police said the teen is facing a criminal mischief charge through juvenile court.
