Teen charged with rape at Connellsville Library
A 17-year-old Connellsville boy is facing charges as an adult for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl at a club meeting at Carnegie Free Library in Connellsville.
Daquan Tyrek Dudley of West Crawford Avenue is charged with rape, sexual assault and two counts each of aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault.
The ĢƵ does not identify those who allege they are victims of rape.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case, the alleged victim told her father Nov. 9 she was raped the day before. He called police, who told him to take her to the hospital, where Connellsville police later interviewed her.
She told police Nov. 1. at a club meeting, Dudley asked her to go to the basement with him to talk. He later kissed her, put her on the floor and sexually assaulted her, she said. She said she told him to stop and he did, then started again.
At the next club meeting Nov. 8, she said he was waiting for her at the front desk, according to court paperwork. She said he hugged her and asked if they could go in the basement, leading her by the hand. She reportedly told police she was “uncomfortable and didn’t really want to go with him, but was afraid to make him angry.” Police said the alleged victim tried to ignore Dudley, playing on her phone but he repeatedly became angry, took her phone and shut it off. She said he pulled her behind the bookshelves and she pushed him, trying to get away. He allegedly forced his hand in her underwear and stopped, then apologized and said he felt bad, according to police.
Dudley alleged forced his hand in her underwear again and she repeatedly told him to stop, saying she did not want him to do that. He allegedly ignored her, took off her pants and raped her. She said she told him to stop and tried to push him away, and he responded he “couldn’t stop,” police said.
He later reportedly texted her saying, “I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have done that to you at all.”
Dudley was arraigned Monday by on-call Magisterial District Judge Mike Defino Jr., who set bail at $25,000. Dudley remains in Fayette County Prison in lieu of bail.
