Fayette, Westmoreland under flood watch

1 min read

A flood watch is in effect through Tuesday morning for several areas in the region, including Uniontown, Ohiopyle and Champion.

The National Weather Service issued the warning this morning for portions of southwest region of the state, including Fayette and Westmoreland counties and the ridges of both counties.

The NWS reported periods of moderate to heavy rain are expected as now-downgraded Tropical Depression Florence crosses the region. Forecasters said 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain are possible, bringing with it the potential for flooding in low lying areas and screams.
