State police are investigating the shooting death of Tywain J. Reid, 29, who was shot multiple times at the intersection of Walnut and Center streets in Vanderbilt at about 8:50 p.m. Monday.

A 29-year-old man was fatally shot Monday night at a Vanderbilt intersection, state police confirmed Tuesday morning.

Tywain J. Reid was pronounced dead on the scene by the Fayette County CoronerÄ¢¹½ÊÓƵ Office.

No homicide charges were filed as of Tuesday afternoon.

State police were called at about 8:50 p.m. to the intersection of Center and Walnut streets, where they found him lying on the road with multiple gunshot wounds.

The investigation is ongoing. Police remained tight-lipped throughout the day Tuesday.

Police said Reid had a North Braddock address, though neighbors said he was living in a nearby apartment. Bullets apparently struck at least three cars and a building at the intersection. A red car at the intersection was covered with a tarp, which neighbors said had its windows shot out.

In July, a former hotel housing nearly a dozen apartments burned just feet from where ReidÄ¢¹½ÊÓƵ body was found Monday night. A state police fire marshal has not yet released the cause of the fire.
