Uniontown man charged with retaliation against witness
A Uniontown man is facing charges after allegedly threatening a man who testified against him in an assault and burglary case in 2017.
Tobias Alexander Mitchell, 37, of Shaffer Street is facing misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, simple assault and retaliation against a witness.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case, Mitchell stopped his burgundy Grand Prix in front of Gerald Hall, who was walking on Morgantown Street near Beauty World at about 6:15 p.m. March 26 and threatened him.
“I’m dead. He’ll be coming for me,” Hall wrote in a statement to Uniontown City Police, referencing MitchellĢƵ alleged words to him, according to court documents.
Hall testified against Mitchell in 2017, when Mitchell was facing charges including burglary and aggravated assault. According to testimony, Mitchell kicked in the door of a Nutt Avenue apartment with an unidentified man and hit Hall in the head with a toaster and an unknown object. At the preliminary hearing in that case, Mitchell reportedly turned to another witness and said, “I’m coming for you.” He was found not guilty in both cases.
