Uniontown man arrested after SERT called to house
A Uniontown man was arrested after a state police Special Emergency Response Team was sent to his house early Friday for documented drug activity.
Kody Mikel Dennis, 19, of 205 South Mount Vernon Avenue was taken into custody without incident, police said. His $150,000 bail was revoked Monday by Fayette County Judge Linda Cordaro.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case, police executed a search warrant and found suspected crack cocaine and marijuana, drug paraphernalia commonly used by drug dealers, and a loaded 9-mm pistol. Police did not detail the amount of suspected drugs they found.
It is illegal for Dennis to possess a firearm because of a conviction for possession of a firearm by a minor in 2017, according to court documents.
He is charged with possession of a firearm prohibited, possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Dennis was arraigned Friday morning by Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros, who set bail at $150,000 before his bail was revoked on the higher courtÄ¢¹½ÊÓƵ decision.
He was also arrested March 28 and charged with possession of a firearm, heroin and crack cocaine following a fight outside Dairy Queen in which he allegedly brandished a handgun. Bail was set at $150,000, which he posted. Cordaro also revoked bail in that case Monday.
Dennis is awaiting trial in three cases filed between May and October including charges of flight to avoid apprehension, possession with intent to deliver, possession of a firearm prohibited and simple assault.
