2-year-old child drowns in North Union Township pool
A 2-year-old child drowned after falling into a pool in North Union Township Thursday afternoon, officials said.
The Fayette County Coroner’s office confirmed the child had died Thursday evening. State police are investigating.
“A 2-year-old child passed away and drowned in a swimming pool,” said State Police Trooper Robert Broadwater.
First responders were called to a house along Coolspring Street in Hopwood at about 3:15 p.m. The child was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
