Uniontown police: Man requested topless photo of 13-year-old girl
Uniontown City Police issued an arrest warrant for a Northcumberland County man who is accused of repeatedly asking a 13-year-old girl for a topless photo.
Johnathan Robert Sanders, 24, of East Dewart Street was charged with child pornography, corruption of minors and harassment.
Police alleged he and the girl were talking on Facebook messenger between Oct. 13 and Oct. 22. The messages were “secret conversations,” meaning the messages were encrypted, according to court paperwork. Some were set with a timer so they disappeared.
Sanders allegedly asked her multiple times for a topless photo, and she repeatedly said no. He asked her age, and she told him she was 13, but he allegedly continued asking. On a separate date within the time frame, he allegedly insisted she send a topless photo, and she continued telling him no. She provided screenshots of the second conversation to police.
The girl’s father confronted Sanders and Sanders’ father, who blamed the conversation on substance abuse and alcohol problems. Sanders also denied sending the messages, claiming to the girl’s father that a friend was using his phone and he did not know who because he was intoxicated, court documents said.
Charges were filed Dec. 23 before Fayette County Magisterial District Judge Michael Metros.
