Masontown man charged with assaulting Uniontown Hospital staff
Charges were filed Friday against a Masontown man who allegedly assaulted four staff members at Uniontown Hospital.
Seth Goutierrez, 19, is facing four counts each of aggravated assault, simple assault, and disorderly conduct for a reported incident at the hospital at about 11:45 p.m. Thursday.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case, Goutierrez became combative with staff in the emergency room, hitting and kicking them. He reportedly caused a jaw injury to an emergency room technician, by kicking her in the face. She was examined and treated at the hospital. He also allegedly punched a registered nurse in the head, neck and chest, causing a chipped tooth. The nurse was examined and treated, and planned to follow up with his dentist.
Goutierrez also allegedly punched a registered nurse in the head and kicked and kneed another registered nurse in the jaw, causing pain. Neither sought medical treatment.
A fourth registered nurse reported witnessing the assault and corroborated the information for Uniontown Hospital Police, according to court paperwork.
Charges were filed before Magisterial District Judge Michael Metros. Goutierrez is awaiting his preliminary arraignment.
