A Monessen man with three arrest warrants was arrested in Uniontown after a brief foot chase Monday afternoon and found with a gun and drugs, state police said.

Trey Zachery Holmes, 23, of Miller Street is charged with prohibited possession of a firearm, flight to avoid apprehension, firearms not to be carried without a license, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, resisting arrest and false identification.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case, Holmes was spotted by state police driving a rental vehicle on Connellsville Street with a passenger. Police reported smelling marijuana when he opened the vehicle door on Carlisle Street. Holmes reportedly started shaking when the officer asked his name, and identified himself as Devantay Lauderbaugh. He was unable to provide a birth date.

Holmes allegedly pulled away from the trooper, causing his hoodie to fall off, and then fled as the officer told him to stop, saying he was under arrest. The trooper deployed a Taser on Holmes, causing the man to fall. Holmes reportedly reached into his back pocket, prompting the officer to deploy the Taser again. Holmes was then taken into custody, police said.

At the Uniontown state police station, Holmes reportedly reached toward his buttocks and pulled out a baggie of suspected crack cocaine.

Holmes was found with a false identification card for Devantay Lauderbaugh and a real driver’s license, which was suspended for DUI. A 9-mm handgun was found in his hoodie pocket, police said. Holmes is a felon not to possess a weapon for a 2015 conviction of possession with intent to deliver, police said.

Holmes was arraigned Monday night before on-call Fayette County Magisterial District Judge Daniel C. Shimshock, who set bail at $100,000. He was unable to post bail and remains in Fayette County Prison.
