Two men have been charged with robbing a South Huntingdon Township gas station with a BB gun.

State police charged Dylan James Kurucz, 26, of Glassport and Curtis Thomas Everett, 26, of Greensburg with robbing the Sunoco convenience store on Mount Pleasant Road in at 10:46 p.m. May 6.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Everette walked into the convenience store with a pistol and demanded a store employee open the safe.

The employee complied and gave Everette $33,000 including approximately $15,000 in checks and about $16,000 in cash, police said. He fled on foot.

Police said they received information of two possible suspects involved in the robbery, Everette and Kurucz, both of whom denied taking part in the robbery when they were first interviewed.

On Feb. 25, Everette was interviewed again by police at Westmoreland County Magisterial District Judge Charles Christner’s office in Rostraver Township in the presence of Everette’s attorney.

There, Everette admitted to robbing the Sunoco, and reportedly said he was driven there by Kurucz. He told police Kurucz waited in a vehicle parked across the street from the store.

Police said Everette told them the men burned the $15,000 in checks and split the $16,000 in cash.

Everette was charged with robbery, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and simple assault. He is currently lodged in the Westmoreland County Prison on other charges and has not yet been arraigned for the alleged robbery.

A warrant has been issued for Kurucz, who was charged with robbery and receiving stolen property.
