A Masontown man allegedly assaulted a woman and later told police who were investigating the case that he was going to kill her.

Paul Melvin Allison Jr., 54, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and three counts of terroristic threats.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case, Lisa Hanlan visited Allison at a friend’s house on Puritan Road in McClellandtown Friday. Hanlan told police she and Allison were dating off and on for about 2 ½ years. She said she confronted Allison about other women and he became angry, using derogatory language. She fled into the woods, and he reportedly tracked her down, punched her in the face and head and shoved her into his vehicle. Police said he also put her in a choke hold, preventing her from breathing and said he was going to kill her.

She reportedly told police Allison continued to assault Hanlan until she ran into the bathroom and called 911 on a home phone because he took her cellphone. Allison allegedly grabbed her out of the bathroom just before German Township police arrived.

While in a holding cell at the German Township Police station, Allison reportedly told an officer he was going to “kill that (expletive) now.” Another officer reported Allison saying he should have “broke her (expletive) neck.”

“We will see how that hearing at the magistrate goes,” Allison was quoted as saying in court documents, referring to Magisterial District Judge Daniel C. Shimshock’s office.

Hanlan told police Allison has severely assaulted her in the past. She told them she is “extremely afraid of Allison and that he will try to kill her,” police wrote in court documents.

Allison reportedly told police he is a member of the Aryan Brotherhood.

Allison was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Nathan A. Henning, who set bail at $75,000. He remains in Fayette County Prison, unable to post bail.
