Two brothers, ages 1 and 3, drowned in a pool outside their Uniontown home on Whiteman Avenue at about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Uniontown City Police Lt. Tom Kolencik was among the first officers to arrive, and police officers attempted to revive the children on their way to the hospital. Both children were pronounced dead at Uniontown Hospital.

“They just didn’t make it,” Kolencik said.

Fayette EMS officials arrived moments after police, who were already headed to the hospital. Fayette EMS Chief Rick Adobato commended police on their efforts.

Police are continuing their investigation into the incident. Kolencik said two adults were home at the time.
