Uniontown City Police issued an arrest warrant for a man who allegedly beat his girlfriend, hit her with a brick and threw her from a retaining wall, causing severe swelling to her head and face at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday.

Blade Leviathan Cole, 19, is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and two counts of robbery.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case, he punched his girlfriend, Emilee Basinger, twice at their 20 Millview Street apartment. She ran away from him outside, and borrowed a phone from a neighbor to call her mother. Cole came outside and forced her to walk with him near Family Dollar. He reportedly said they could not go back to the apartment because her mother would call police. She ran from him and he allegedly caught her on West Coffee Street, hit her in the head with a brick and punched her several times. Near the vacant Commercial Trade School building on West Kerr Street, he “made her sit on a cement retaining wall for her to catch her breath,” police wrote in the affidavit. He then allegedly “flipped out” and threw her over the 6-foot wall. She ran away from him onto a Kerr Street porch. He allegedly pulled her off the porch and punched her repeatedly. The person who lived there called 911. Cole ran away when the person came outside. The person, who was not named in the affidavit, protected her until police arrived.

Fayette EMS took her to the hospital for treatment of injuries to her head, neck, right rib area, both arms and knees. Police said she had severe swelling on the top of her head, and her right eye was swollen shut.

At some point Cole allegedly took her cell phone.

Charges were filed before Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros.
