Police are looking for a West Newton man who allegedly attacked his brothers and caused one of them to be bitten by a dog.

Charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment were charged against Stephen Levi Wilson, 23, before Westmoreland County Magisterial District Judge Charles Christner.

The charges stem from an incident where West Newton Police responded to a call of a man being bit in the neck by a dog along North Second Street at 9:36 p.m. Sunday.

The man, Seth Wilson, had multiple lacerations and puncture wounds on his neck and face and told police that his brother, Stephen Wilson, was at the house arguing with their brother, Samuel Wilson, about drinking beer.

Police alleged Stephen Wilson punched Samuel Wilson in the chest and attempted to pick up a television and strike Samuel Wilson with it. Authorities said another brother, Shane Wilson, tried to intervene by picking up a part of a banister that had been broken by Stephen Wilson, stating he was going to strike Stephen Wilson with it.

Then, police said, the family dog became excited when Stephen Wilson struck Seth Wilson in the face, causing Seth Wilson to fall to the ground. The dog scratched and bit Seth Wilson, causing minor lacerations to his check, neck and back.

Seth Wilson was transported to Mon Valley Hospital for treatment.

Police observed red swelling on Samuel Wilson’s right upper chest, and they were informed by the brothers’ father that Stephen Wilson fled before police arrived.

Police advised the family to contact 911 if Stephen Wilson returned.
