Couple charged in robbery of Sewickley business
A West Newton couple has been charged with burglarizing a Sewickley Township business in April.
Malcom Joshua Long, 24, and Ashley Lynn Biagini, 26, were arraigned before on-call Westmoreland County Magisterial District Judge Anthony Bompiani on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief on Tuesday.
The charges stem from an incident along Herminie West Newton Road at Siefert Beverage on April 18.
When state police responded, they found a broken glass window, a rock inside the business, an open cooler that was previously closed and two Mountain Dew bottles left under a jacket on the floor.
A neighbor told police he heard glass breaking at the beverage store and saw Long coming out of the window above the ice machine and Biagini running from the scene.
Police spoke with the owner of the business, who stated all the doors of the business were locked prior to the incident and added that Long worked at the business a year prior to the incident.
Both Long and Biagini have warrants out for their arrest.
