A Donora man is facing charges stemming from a police pursuit from Monongahela to his hometown, where he nearly struck a police officer Saturday, court records allege.

District Judge Mark Wilson signed a warrant Monday for the arrest of the suspect, Marquis A. Carlock, who was sent to Allegheny County Jail in an unrelated case after he was taken into custody.

Donora police were notified by Washington County 911 about 5 p.m. that Monongahela officers were pursuing a purple Ford Expedition into the borough on Route 837, court records show.

Donora police were with Charleroi Regional officers at the time at Highland Terrace and they immediately began to drive to Palmer Park along Route 837.

The Ford came to a stop on Lucretia Avenue after the vehicle fishtailed and nearly crashed into a railing. A Monongahela officer also stopped and got out of the cruiser, at which time the Ford sped toward him before continuing the pursuit through many borough roadways, police alleged.

Police also accused Carlock of putting children and adults at risk because many people came outside to watch the pursuit.

Police took Carlock into custody after he locked the vehicleÄ¢¹½ÊÓƵ brakes and nearly struck another police cruiser on Allen Avenue, court records allege.

Carlock allegedly refused orders at gunpoint to get out of the vehicle, prompting officer to break the windshield and passenger windows to force him to the street.

Carlock is facing charges of aggravated assault, flight to avoid apprehension, simple assault, fleeing from police, reckless endangerment, failure to yield to emergency vehicles and driving with a DUI-suspended license.

Wilson arraigned Carlock Tuesday morning on the Donora charges and transferred him to Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.
