The Fayette County coroner's office was called to a crash on Route 21 in McClellandtown Tuesday.

State police said three people were killed, including a 4-year-old boy, in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday on Route 21 in McClellandtown.

The crash occurred shortly before 4 p.m. near the Double T Bar and Grill in German Township. State police are working to determine the cause of the crash.

State police Trooper Robert Broadwater said a man, woman and 4-year-old child were killed. The names of those involved in the crash have not been released.

A tri-axle truck and a personal vehicle were driving in opposite directions on a hill along a curve of Route 21 when the collision occurred, Broadwater said.

The tri-axle truck was over an embankment, and the second vehicle was against a guard rail.

John Kondrla, a scene specialist with the Fayette County CoronerÄ¢¹½ÊÓƵ Office, said the man was in his 50s. The age of the woman was not immediately available. Autopsies will be performed on each of the victims Wednesday, he said.

Emergency crews remained on the scene until about 9 p.m.
