Fayette County man charged in unlawful contact case
A Fayette County man is in custody on charges he used social media in attempts to lure a 14-year-old North Strabane Township girl to have sex with him, court records allege.
Police in North Strabane, Washington County, arrested Cheyenne Joseph Lowry, 53, of Uledi, in the case Wednesday, charging him with unlawful sexual contact with a child, corruption of a minor and illegal use of a cellphone, court records show.
The girlÄ¢¹½ÊÓƵ mother gave police her permission to pose as her daughter on the girlÄ¢¹½ÊÓƵ Facebook account. The officer, pretending to be the teen, began a conversation with Lowry about 11 p.m. Monday, court records allege.
Police said Lowry engaged in a sexual conversation on the Facebook account, enticed her to meet him and also send him a photo of her pretending to kiss him. He also suggested she lie about her age to make her an adult, court records indicate.
Lowry was placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond set by District Judge Mark Wilson.
