New details released in fatal Menallen Township wreck, victim IDed
A woman who died and a driver who suffered serious injuries in a crash in Menallen Township late Wednesday were both identified by state police Friday.
Passenger Deborah K. Kaider, 62, of New Salem was pronounced dead at Uniontown Hospital, where she was taken by Fayette EMS. Driver Vincent J. Kaider, 65, also of New Salem was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia by medical helicopter. His injuries were considered serious, but not critical, according to state police Tpr. Robert Broadwater.
State police said Kaider was speeding on New Salem Road in a Chrysler Town & Country when he lost control of his vehicle and left the road at about 11:30 p.m., hitting a utility pole and crashing through several fence poles and into an International Harvester at 1015 New Salem Road.
