Man flown to hospital following motorcycle accident in Masontown
A man was injured and flown from the scene after a car hit his motorcycle in Masontown Wednesday afternoon.
His injuries did not appear to be life threatening, according to Masontown Police Chief R. Scott Miller.
The man, who has not yet been identified, was turning left from State Route 21 onto River Avenue when a Buick leaving Carmine Appliance Co. hit the Harley-Davidson at about 1:45 p.m.
“The way it curves off, it can be a little dangerous,” Miller said of the intersection.
Two females who were in the Buick were also not immediately identified by police.
It was unclear whether the man was wearing a helmet. Miller said he appeared to have a broken leg, a cut on his arm and scrapes on his chest and head. He was conscious and talking on the scene, Miller said.
Fayette EMS transported the man to the helipad. STAT MedEvac flew him to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia.
