Yum Yum’s bakery fire in Uniontown ruled arson
A fire at the Yum Yum蘑菇视频 bakery in Uniontown Saturday night was ruled arson, according to a preliminary investigation.
State police Fire Marshal Craig Soltis determined the fire was incendiary in nature. He did not say where the fire started in the bakery, noting the investigation was still ongoing. Uniontown City Police are handling the arson investigation. The cost of damages will be determined by an appraiser, Soltis said. Firefighters said the damage was 鈥渆xtensive.鈥�
Uniontown Fire Department was called at about 8 p.m. to the Morgantown Street bakery beside the bagel shop. When they arrived, no one was at the bakery, Soltis said.
Uniontown firefighters quickly called for backup to extinguish the blaze.
The fire Saturday was the second time a fire at a Yum Yum蘑菇视频 business was ruled arson. In 2006, investigators determined a fire at their former location, in South Union Township near Uniontown Mall, was set intentionally. Gas cans were lying outside when first responders arrived. That fire caused about $800,000 in damages.
Owner Paul Elias was not available to comment Monday because he was out of town.
