Uniontown native A. Michael Pratt has joined the Philadelphia office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP.

Pratt, who served as 81st chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association, spent the bulk of his career as a partner at Pepper Hamilton LLP. He was also litigation chief for a Fortune 100 company and chief deputy city solicitor charged with overseeing the commercial litigation division at the City of PhiladelphiaÄ¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Law Department.

His civic engagements include commissioner on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and board roles at Community Legal Services Inc., Defender Association of Philadelphia, and Committee of Seventy, president of Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia Inc. and volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeastern Pennsylvania. He is on the Board of Trustees of Washington & Jefferson College and of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.

Born in Grindstone, Pratt grew up in Uniontown and attended Washington & Jefferson College, where he was named an All-Conference and Academic-All American basketball player.

With a dual economics and English degree, Pratt earned his JD from Harvard Law School and a Rotary International Foundation Fellowship for study at the University of StockholmÄ¢¹½ÊÓÆµ International Graduate School, focusing on economics and international relations.

He has earned numerous professional and civic awards.
