Give-A-Christmas donations continue to arrive
Total: $620
Goal: $15,000
Donors from around the area have sent in contributions to Give-A-Christmas, the yearly campaign to raise funds for The Salvation Army.
“We hope to raise $15,000 this year to help friends and neighbors throughout Fayette County,” said Sparkle The Christmas Star, the campaign’s mascot. “Our readers have always been so kind and generous, and I just know they will support local units of The Salvation Army again this year.”
Donations stay in the area, and are directed to the unit in which the donor lives, helping to fund a number of programs.
Give-A-Christmas runs through Thursday, Dec. 22, with the final total announced in the Christmas Day edition of the ĢƵ. Updates on the campaign’s progress will run each Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
