According to unofficial results from the Pennsylvania Department of State, Republicans state Sen. Pat Stefano and state House candidate Charity Grimm Krupa have sizable leads over the Democrats in their races.

The results include mail-in and absentee ballots. The Fayette County Election Bureau reported that 56.82% of the countyÄ¢¹½ÊÓƵ voters cast a ballot, either in person or by mail.

Krupa of Smithfield and Democrat Richard Ringer of North Union Township were vying to represent the 51st Legislative District. Krupa was a late entrant to the race, appointed to take the place of incumbent Matt Dowling after he was nominated in the primary and bowed out of the race in August.

Unofficial results showed 13,244 votes for Krupa, with Ringer receiving 8,140.

In Fayette County, Stefano, of Bullskin Township, received more than twice as many votes as first-time political candidate Sydney Hovis of Scottdale. Across the district, which includes all of Fayette, Somerset and Bedford counties and Scottdale in Westmoreland County, he received 76,494 votes to her 25,199.

In the U.S. Senate race, Fayette County residents gave Republican Mehmet Oz 27,991 votes and Democrat John Fetterman 17,454 votes. The margin was closer in the governorÄ¢¹½ÊÓƵ race, though county residents supported Republican Doug Mastriano (25,947 votes) over Democrat Josh Shapiro (19,822 votes).

While final counts aren’t done across the state, multiple news outlets have said declared Fetterman and Shapiro victors in those races. Late Wednesday morning, Oz conceded the race.

State Rep. Ryan Warner and U.S. Rep. Guy Reschenthaller were also up for reelection, but both Republicans were unopposed.
