State police close investigation into Albert Gallatin teacher
State police have closed an investigation into an Albert Gallatin Area School District teacher for allegedly sexually assaulting a student due to the teacher’s death.
Police issued a report Saturday stating they had been investigating a reported assault between the teacher and a 14-year-old student that occurred between 2006 and 2009.
Police did not identify the teacher involved, nor did they say when the teacher died.
Albert Gallatin Superintendent Christopher Pegg said Monday that the district was aware of state police involvement, and hired special counsel to complete an independent investigation. He declined any additional comment.
