2 killed in West Bethlehem crash

Two people were killed in a one-vehicle crash over the weekend, according to the Washington County coroner’s office.

According to the coroner, the driver lost control of the vehicle while traveling westbound near 80 Clarksville Road, left the roadway and rolled down an embankment. The operator was ejected from the vehicle, according to the coroner’s report.

A passerby found the wreckage and reported the crash to the Washington County 911 center at 9:20 a.m. Sunday. The driver’s time of death was listed as 10:49 a.m. Sunday.

A front-seat passenger also was in the vehicle at the time of the crash but managed to leave the scene, according to the coroner.

Coroner Timothy Warco identified the driver as Brittany Therese Crile, 36, of Waynesburg and the passenger as Joseph Crile, 46, of Marianna.

Marianna firefighters, along with state police, conducted a search and found Joseph Crile deceased in an empty house in the 100 block of Clarksville Road at about 2:30 p.m. The coroner listed the time of death as 4:35 p.m. Sunday.

The accident is believed to have occurred between 4:15 p.m. Saturday and 9:20 a.m. Sunday.

Marianna Police Department was assisted at the scene by Ambulance & Chair Service. State police are investigating.
