State police remind drivers to lock car doors
State police are urging the public to secure their vehicles amid a rash of thefts.
In a press release, police said there have been an increase in vehicle thefts in Fayette County, particularly in Uniontown.
According to police, in many cases the vehicles were left unlocked.
Drivers are asked to keep in mind several safety tips, such as always locking your vehicle when it will be left unattended even for a short time, never leave keys inside an unattended vehicle, park in well lit areas and do not leave valuables inside your vehicle.
Police ask that any suspicious activity be reported to 911.
