James Herbert Grooms, Jr., 77, of McClellandtown, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 in Laurel Ridge Nursing Center, Uniontown, PA.
He was born on Sunday December 21, 1947 in Uniontown, Pa., a son of the late James Herbert Sr., and Sarah Crossland Grooms. who preceded him in death, he is also preceded in death by his sister Kathy.
Jim was a lifelong member of The McClellandtown Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon for many years, he was employed at McDonalds on Morgantown Road and the McClellandtown food bank, he was a avid sports fan, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Friends will be received in The McClellandtown Presbyterian Church, 292 Springer Rd, McClellandtown, PA 15458 on Monday December 8, 2025 from 10 to 12 noon, the hour of service with Reverend Rebecca Abbott officiating.
Interment will follow in Church Hill Cemetery, McClellandtown.
The family request memorial donations be made in Jim’s name to McClellandtown Presbyterian Church Food Bank, 292 Springer Rd, McClellandtown, PA 15458.
