Paul Stephen Bilohlavek, 90, of Perryopolis, Perry Township, went to Our Lord and Savior, unexpectedly, on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.

Born of humble beginnings on October 5, 1935, in Star Junction, he was the son of the late Andrew and Theresa Csizmadia Bilohlavek.

As a young boy, Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing with his siblings and friends, and working on Jones’ Farm where he fell in love with the outdoors. His love of hunting and fishing continued throughout his life with family. He also enjoyed gardening each year and loved sharing his harvest with many.

After graduating from Perry Township High School, he proudly served in the United States Army. In the late 1950s, while home on leave, he met the love of his life, Charlotte Vargo, at her sister’s diner. They married in 1960 and had a wonderful marriage for over 65 years.

A lifelong resident of Perry Township, Paul was a member of St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church. He was a devote Catholic who had a strong faith. In addition, Paul was a member of the Perryopolis Knights of Columbus Council 4427 and was a 4th degree Knight Bishop Phelan Assembly, and lifetime member of Perryopolis Sokols Club.

Paul’s dedication to the insurance profession spanned over 58 years, which included starting his own State Farm Agency, where he served the personal and business insurance needs of those in the Perryopolis and surrounding communities for 38 years. Paul’s genuine interest in helping people, getting to know them and understanding what was important to them allowed him to help and assist them with all their insurance needs.

In addition to his faith and commitment to his profession, family was everything to Paul, and he certainly showed his love to his family in many ways, which will be cherished by all. A highlight of Paul’s time with his family was the annual vacation they went on together.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Bilohlavek; his children, Melissa (William) Compliment and Stephen A. (Melanie) Bilohlavek; grandchildren: Chelsey Ann Compliment, William Corey Compliment and Fiancee, Braelynn Neely, Allison E. Bilohlavek and Alexander S. Bilohlavek; siblings: Andrew J. Bilohlavek, Irene Bubnash, John Bilohlavek, Thomas Bilohlavek and Patricia (Albert) Lafko; and many loving brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, all of which who were always there when called upon.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Alexander Bilohlavek; sisters: Mary Ludwick, Theresa Berezny and Kathleen Larsen.

Paul’s warm smile, kind ways and love will be sadly missed but the memories he created for us will live on.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty Street, Perryopolis, 724-736-2515. Interment will take place in Olive Branch Cemetery. Paul believed in supporting his community and giving back, so in doing so the Family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Paul Stephen Bilohlavek to the Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department or to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
