Fred “Duke” David, 66, of Uniontown, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born August 16, 1959, Duke lived a life defined by dedication – to his family, his work, his friends, and the community he cherished.

For 39 years, Duke was the devoted husband of his wife, Sherri, with whom he shared a life rich in love, loyalty, and partnership. Together, they raised three children, who were the light of his life: son, Fred and wife Jessica; daughter, Hayley; and son, Richard and wife Claire. Duke was a proud and loving grandfather to James, Elliana, Sutton and Peyton, with grandbaby David #5 on the way, a joy he looked forward to with great excitement. He is also survived by his mother-in- law, Brenda Sutton.

Duke is lovingly remembered by his siblings: sister, Denise and husband Ron; brothers, Dan “Ta” David, Brian “Putty” David and wife Rhonda. He also leaves behind countless nieces and nephews, who adored their Uncle Duke and will forever hold his humor, kindness, and guidance in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred “Hawk” and Elsie David; his brother, Ronald David; and his father-in-law, Richard Sutton.

A cornerstone of the Uniontown community, Duke owned and operated Duke’s Tavern for 40 years. What he built was more than a local bar – it was a home away from home for friends, neighbors, and anyone needing a place to belong. His presence behind the bar, his welcoming spirit, and his gift for storytelling made Duke’s Tavern a beloved gathering place for generations.

Duke had a passion for life’s simple joys. He loved Notre Dame football and treasured his trips with his sons to South Bend to watch the Fighting Irish play. He was a loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and enjoyed countless rounds of golf and rum with his dearest friends. His laughter, warmth, and easygoing nature made him a companion people cherished.

A man of deep faith, Duke was a devoted member of St. George Maronite Church, where he found spiritual strength and community throughout his life.

Duke will be remembered for his generosity, loyalty, and the steady, comforting presence he offered to everyone he loved. His legacy lives on in his family, his friendships, and the community he helped shape for more than four decades.

He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

May he rest in peace.
