Albert “Abe” Petrosky, 91, of Brier Hill, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
He was born on August 13, 1934, in Vesta #7, to the late Charles and Anna Sewa Petrosky.
Abe was a Veteran of the United States Army as a Helicopter Mechanic. He was a member of St. Nicholas Church in Brownsville, a member of South Brownsville Fire Co., Nixon Gun Club, Issac Walton League, Railroad Museum and a member of American Legion Post 940.
He was retired from Hillman Barge Co. with 43 years of service.
He was an avid hunter and fishermen.
Abe is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Alice Bennett Petrosky; four children: Larry Petrosky and wife, Cathy, Russell Petrosky and wife, Debbie, Robert Petrosky and wife, Andrea, and Wendy Shepley and husband Brian; Seven grandchildren: Aaron Petrosky, Chelsea Smith and husband, Carl, Russell “Rusty” Petrosky, Albert Petrosky, Ian Petrosky and wife, Jessica, Deanna Lenk and husband, Rich, Leslie Wooten and husband, Chris; six great-grandchildren: Avery, Aayla, Adria, Madelyn, Kaiden and Braelyn; brothers, Joe and Andy Petrosky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers: Chaz, George, John and Mike; and sisters: Pauline, Anna, Mary and Roseann.
Private services are under the care of the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, Brownsville. Interment in Lafayette Memorial Park with full military rites accorded by American Legion Posts 940, 838 and 275.
