Lemont Furnace
Joann Sabatula, 85, of Lemont Furnace, passed away Monday, March 30, 2026, in Ruby Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 14, 1941, in Uniontown, to the late George and Sophie Gadek Sabatula.
Joann graduated from North Union High School.
She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, where she had previously worked in the church office.
Joann was a secretary at Long Airdox Co. for several years.
She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and dog sitting Charlie.
Joann is survived by a niece, Joann Kolosky and husband Frank of Lemont Furnace; a nephew, Brandon Sabatula and wife Mary of Connellsville; great- nieces and nephews, Ryen, Frankie, Ethan, Emily, and Elliot; and a cousin, Patty Gadek of Uniontown.
She was preceded in death by two siblings, Eleanor Porczi and Richard Sabatula.
Visitation for Joann will be held in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, 603 N. Gallatin Avenue Ext., Uniontown, PA 15401, Wednesday, April 8, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 9, in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 180 Old Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, PA 15401.
Interment is in St. Joseph Cemetery in Hopwood.
